6th Annual Benefit Dinner

CILS will be holding its sixth annual Benefit Dinner on September 20, 2001. This year's event is being hosted by Sodak Gaming, Inc., and will take place at the Pala Band of Mission Indians' newly-opened Casino and Entertainment Complex. More than 200 people are expected to gather at this year's banquet, featuring fabulous food and entertainment by Native American comedic magician Eugene Herrod, to be followed by dancing to classic rock provided by The Rez Band. Come join us at the Pala Casino in celebrating a great year for California Tribes and help us recognize CILS and its many supporters, including Tribes, businesses, organizations and individuals.

Created and controlled by California Indian Tribes, CILS has been protecting and advancing the rights of the California Indian community for 34 years, providing free and low-cost legal services to Tribes and individuals on a wide range of tribal concerns, including the preservation of Indian families, tribal recognition and sovereignty, protection and enhancement of California tribal homelands, tribal governance and economic development, and cultural and religious protections. Since 1996, our benefit dinner has successfully raised thousands of dollars to support CILS' work with impoverished individuals and Tribes. All contributions are tax-deductible, greatly appreciated, and will fund CILS' representation of California Indians and Indian Tribes.

For tickets or further information about the sixth Annual Benefit, please contact Cindy Pahl at (760)746-8941, extension 126.
