CILS TO SPEAK ON ICWA ISSUES AT LOS ANGELES COUNTY CONFERENCE - NOV 15

Joanne Willis Newton of CILS’ Escondido office will be a panelist at an upcoming workshop, "Problem Solving for ICWA Cases." Jointly hosted by the Los Angeles County Court and California State University, Los Angeles, the workshop will be part of a November 15th conference, "A New Beginning for Partnerships for Children and Families in Los Angeles Counties." The conference will provide training, collaboration opportunities, and dialogue facilitation for educators, students, attorneys, mental health professionals and social workers interested in the welfare of at-risk families. Ms. Willis Newton is the coordinator of CILS’ ICWA Practice Group, which provides a range of services related to Indian child welfare, including education of those involved in social services about ICWA and the crucial role it plays in Indian communities.
